When looking to purchase their next property, our clients had a very particular vision in mind. They wanted a bigger block, in a good location that could be renovated into their dream home. Having worked with Perth Precision Construction twice before they engaged our services early in the property search to ensure what they purchased would meet their needs and achieve their desired aesthetic.
Through in-depth brainstorming and countless meetings with both our builder, Tim, and our interior designer, Nat, a plan was devised. The existing dwelling was left mostly-untouched from the street front to take advantage of the beautiful existing architecture renowned in the earlier eras. All thoughtful changes made to the facade – a good lick of paint, replacing the roof with tin – were with the intent to compliment that which was there, whilst providing a much-needed refresh to prepare you for the modern renovation beyond. Now, when you enter through the front door, the fresh polished wide jarrah boards take you past the original large bedrooms, complete with high ceilings and exquisite original cornice, and then just when you thought the ceiling couldn’t get any higher, you turn and it opens out into the new extension, a wall of resplendent glass reaching 5.4 meters in height. Photographs do not do it justice. To achieve this jaw-dropping transformation, we were required to demolish the back of the existing house before constructing a master wing, complete with walk-in robe and ensuite, additional bathroom, powder room, laundry and open plan kitchen/living/dining that overlooks the new pool and alfresco. A carport and storage unit was also built at the back of the property. \\To blend the old and new, we upgraded the cornices and installed dado rails the length of the hallway that connects the front and back of the house. Utilising the refined eye of our interior designer, Nat, the beautifully chosen colour pallet – textured wood, black and white – is represented in the cabinetry throughout, the tiles, and the fittings and fixtures, and provides a sense of continuity. Our favourite feature of this build is a three-way draw between the in-ground cellar with custom glass lid, that towering wall of insulated glass, or the pool area beyond.
